PSALMS
PSALMS stands for Painswick and Stroud Local Area Ministries and is an initiative that is supported by Christ Church and our partners at St George’s. Together we provide the resources to employ a part-time Sports Minister (Ruth Graveling) to work with the children and young people of Nailsworth.
Here’s a message from Andy:
Hi, my name is Andy and I work as a Strategic Youth and Sports Minister for PSALMS (Painswick and Stroud Area Local Ministries). Part of my time is linked with Christ Church and St. Georges Church in Nailsworth doing sports ministry in the area. This includes working with the year 4,5 and 6’s and Nailsworth Primary School assisting and/or leading P.E. lessons and some assemblies.
On a Thursday afternoon (weather permitting) you will find a few of us at the MUGA in Forest Green playing basketball or football with some of the local children and teenagers. We also run a basketball club once per week and attend the local youth club throughout the week too.
Sport is a great way of getting to know young people and building a bridge between the Church and the young people in the community, it’s also great fun.
I also have an interest for music and working with teenagers and members of the church to play a more contemporary form a worship.
